Sebastian Sheath And Yanick Solandt from Unsigned Berlin (podcast) were lucky to catch the talented DOP and Director Joel Hördegård for an interview at our festival. Joel won the Most Bizarre category with Bogus Operandi, the music video for The Hives.

This video you can’t unsee. Bogus Operandi by the Hives combines all our favourite things, a great song, a compelling story, gore, suspense, humor, and… attempted murder. This song is an earworm and the visuals burned into our retinas. Congrats to the Hives and the team who made this video for taking home Most Bizarre this year!
Aviel Silook, founder and producer of the BMVAs shares, “Exactly when we stated that we are tired of bloody videos, Joel Hördegård proved us not to quit too early! He brought the Bizarre/ horror music video genre up to a new level this time. Not too much and right on point. The combination of horror and original cinematography is a winning card. In 2022 he took second place in our “Best Cinematography” (MARTIN GARRIX FT. TOVE LO — PRESSURE) but it seems like he was hungry for more! This time he took first place with “The Hives – Bogus Operandi.”
