Today is friday and that means it’s time for Music Video of the Week. We will turn the spotlight on “SPECIALZ” by Japanese band King Gnu, directed by @osrin.0902
This video is a delightful chaos, with its dynamic energy, expert editing, and vibrant visuals serving as a sweet treat for the senses. The video exists in its own realm, featuring several anime and manga references – as the song is an opening theme for the anime series called Jujutsu Kaisen.
To bring the effect of surrealism in the previously mentioned mediums to real life is not easy – without VFX. The VFX supervising was done by Tomonori Horie @xor.vfx – and the results are thrilling.
Will “SPECIALZ” be nominated in BMVA 2024? Time will tell. In the meantime, you can still submit your videos until the fast approaching Late Deadline: 7th of March.
